Jonas Paul Wilisch
Jonas Wilisch is an artist working with different forms of media including photography, video, sculpture and installation. He studied in Potsdam, London and Leipzig and graduated with a diploma and Meisterschüler in Fine Arts at Academy of Visual Arts (HGB) in Leipzig. Currently, he is continuing on his project "de- / dis- / ex- / im- / re- / com-ponere" as part of a residence scholarship by DAAD in copenhagen.
The projects is dealing with the different strategies of (re)presentation found in western museums that he links up with found elements of an everyday commodity culture.
In 2006 and 2007 he was attending the media works class of VALIE EXPORT at the Int. Academy of Fine Arts, Salzburg.
His artworks have been nominated and awarded several times (i. eg. International Solo Award of Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Berlin Art prize 2013, C.A.R. - Talent, contemporary art ruhr, 2011).
Further he received different stipends and fundings, amongst others by DAAD, Gerhard-Bürger-Foundation, Karin-Abt-Straubinger-Foundation, Cultural Office Berlin-Neukölln and the Int. Summer Academy of Fine Arts, Salzburg. His work is being shown in national and international solo- and groupexhibitions.
